Wheat Germ Wax – Unrefined CO₂ Wax Fraction

General Introduction:

Wheat Germ Wax is the soft, semi-solid fraction naturally obtained during the supercritical CO₂ extraction of Wheat Germ Oil. Instead of being discarded, this soft wax is upcycled and offered as a mild texturizing ingredient for cosmetic formulations.

It remains unrefined, preserving its natural composition and providing a gentle, fast-melting sensory that works well in oil-based systems where softness, slip, and quick melt are desired.

Texture & Physical Nature

• Form: Semi-solid at room temperature
• Melts very easily at body temperature
• Soft, buttery consistency rather than a hard structuring wax
• Color: Light yellow to deep yellow (natural variation expected)
• Odor: Mild, characteristic of wheat germ

This is not a high-structure wax. It behaves more like a soft emollient-wax hybrid.

How It Is Obtained

• Produced during supercritical CO₂ extraction of Wheat Germ Oil
• Naturally separates as a soft wax fraction
• Collected directly, without refining, bleaching, or deodorizing
• 100% solvent-free and upcycled

Function in Formulations

Because it is a semi-solid wax, it offers:

• Soft texturizing, not hard structuring
• Improved slip / glide
• Melt-on-skin feel
• Buttery softness in balms and anhydrous products
• Slight increase in viscosity in emulsions
• Helps “round out” the sensory of anhydrous blends

Not suitable as a main structuring agent for sticks or firm balms unless combined with harder waxes.
